Hey guys!

I realize it's been a while since I posted any updates, but I just thought I'd share this [link] with you for a short documentary about 'Krigslive'. The production is about the event itself from the perspective on an all-female group of battle nuns called 'The Sisters of Sigmar', but I've fast-forwarded to the juicy bits for your viewing benefit, as most of it is in Danish and without much in the way of subtitles, as far as I can tell. Sadly, our faction didn't get much screen time overall, but the filming is just spectacular! The mustering and march in particular make my heart skip a few beats. During the battle sequence there are also a handful of shots featuring my regiment, including a very tasty slow-mo of yours truly waving the Averland colours. ;P

In other news: I've got a new, mostly finished Landsknecht garb lying around just waiting to be released. This time around I did all visible stitches by hand and used vegetable dyed fabrics that I dyed myself with a little (a lot!) help from my friends. Regrettably I didn't quite finish in time for our medieval market this year, and had to wear the garb somewhat 'incomplete', which is why I haven't posted any pictures in a while. However, next year I'll have it all up and running!

Best regards

Right! So this year's Krigslive is over, and I got to show off my new costume which I (miraculously) managed to finish most of, and then some.

Here's the list of what I ended up with:
• New Hosen
• New Wams
• New Shirt
• New Arming Cap
• New 'Stockings'
• Small pouch (Fit well under the codpiece ;P)
• Playing Dice
• Game of Glückhaus (awesome time-killer!)
• Jewelry (lots and lots of jewelry!)

For next year I'll set the bar a bit lower for my own projects, as I've promised a friend I'll sew his Wams and Hosen in return for a part of a tent we're going to buy together. We're hoping to make it 'in-game' inside as well, so we'll be looking into making some furniture.

I also made a lot of new friends, which leads me to my second point of this journal: I've been recruited for a relatively new, but very high-end re-enactment group called Frie Rostocker Fähnlein, dealing with Landsknechts. They told me they wanted me for my facial hair, but I believe my work might have had something to do with it..

So, to summarise, expect steel weaponry and hand-sewn, vegetable-dyed landsknecht-awesomeness in the (probably not so near) future. :D

I don't know why I bother.
I'm clearly no good with lists and planning ahead, as I've ended up making a lot of the things that I said I 'might' make if I had the extra time and money, rather than things I had initially told myself that I absolutely 'had' to make. Just silly..!

So far I've done:
• New Wams
• New Hosen (almost finished)
• Playing Cards
• Dice

For the easterholidays (24/03-01/04) I'm aiming to make the following:
• New Hosen (finished)
• Proper Socks or 'Stockings'
• Starfish Hat
• Arming Cap
• Jewelry

Still hoping to get time to make some of the following:
• Landsknecht Flag or 'Fähnlein'
• Ledergoller
• Belts
• Bags/Pouches
• Scabbard
• Game of Glückhaus

All in all it's a pretty big rearrangement of my initial goals. It's a shame, really, as some of the things that I've scratched are rather essential. Maybe next time, eh? :)

I make my costumes for a yearly LARP event that takes place here in Denmark. The event is called 'Warlarp', and it is based on the 'Warhammer Fantasy' universe. That said, fantasy does not play a big part in the events, as it is usually humans vs. humans - The Empire (Renaissance Holy Roman Empire) being the most common faction. I for my part, I have mostly played as The Empire, and once as the marauding Norscans (Vikings).

For this year's event (Empire vs. Empire and Mercenaries), I made my first Landsknecht garb. I've been given a lot of praise for it by the Warlarp community, but there are still several things that can be improved. This is a list of things that I need to get done for next time, and things that I would like to get done.

Musthaves:
Gear:
• Landsknecht Banner
• Starfish/Tellerbarret
• Arming Cap
• Ledergollar
• Cloak

Misc:
• Revise the functionality of the costume
• Field Bed
• Marking of all standard equipment

Mighthaves:
Gear:
• Kuhmaul Shoes
• Proper Knee Socks
• New Armour
• New Helmet
• New Wams
• New Hosen

Misc:
• Belts
• Bags/Pouches
• Scabbards for sword and dagger
• Game of Glückhaus
• Dice
• Playing Cards/Tarot Cards
